What seating options are available?

• Extra Legroom seat: at the front of the cabin as well as near the exit rows, with three to five additional inches of legroom (pitch) compared to Standard seats (varies by aircraft type: 5 extra inches of legroom on the 737-700 aircraft, and 3 extra inches of legroom on the 737-800/MAX 8). Extra Legroom seats will also include extra snacks and an extra complimentary premium beverage¹ on select flights (when available). 
• Preferred seat: standard legroom seats located near the front of the cabin. 
• Standard seat: standard legroom seats located in the back of the cabin. 

As defined by our aircraft manufacturer, seat pitch is determined by measuring the distance from any point on a seat to the same point on the seat directly in front of it.

How does assigned seating impact Rapid Rewards® Members? 

• A-List Preferred Members board before Group 1, and A-List Members board in Group 1. For Companion Pass^® holders and Companions, boarding group will be assigned based on their seat location or Credit Cardmember/Tier boarding benefit, whichever is higher. Learn more.
• A-List Preferred Members can select any available seats, including Extra Legroom seats, if available, at the time of booking, at no additional cost.
• A-List Members can select any available Preferred and Standard seats at the time of booking with the opportunity to choose an Extra Legroom seat, if available, within 48 hours of original scheduled departure time, at no additional cost.
• Companions receive either the seating benefits of the Companion Pass® holder or the fare purchased by the Companion Pass holder, as available. Any ancillary seating product purchased by the Companion Pass holder will apply only to the Companion Pass holder.
• All Rapid Rewards Credit Cards include complimentary seating, if available, and boarding benefits, as well as exciting new ways to earn. Select cards will also include complimentary seating upgrades within 48 hours of original scheduled departure, when available.
