How do I gift or transfer Rapid Rewards points to someone else?

To gift or transfer Rapid Rewards points, log in to your account and go to the Points Center. Choose Transfer points or Gift points. Pricing for gifting and transferring points is available in the Points Center.

When prompted:

  • Select how many points you want to send.
  • Enter the recipient’s Rapid Rewards account number, email address, and name.
  • Provide your payment information.

Points post within 72 hours. You must have the recipient’s Rapid Rewards account number to gift or transfer points. If they do not have an account, they can enroll for free at Southwest.com. Once they have an account, you can gift or transfer points to them.

Are there any limitations to the number of points I can gift or transfer?

You can gift or transfer up to 60,000 total points per day. The minimum to gift or transfer is 2,000 points.

Rapid Rewards points can be purchased in increments of 1,000 during promotions and 500 outside promotions. Recipients can receive no more than 60,000 points in a 24-hour period.

You can gift or transfer points to one Member per transaction, and you can complete as many transactions as you’d like up to the 60,000-point daily maximum. A separate charge will apply to each transaction.

Points Center transactions are non-refundable and non-reversible.
