Paintball and airsoft guns are not allowed in carryon baggage in the cabin.

You can bring paintball and Airsoft guns in your checked baggage, if you take certain steps:

• The container rules for firearms do not apply to paintball or Airsoft guns.
• If you're checking a paintball or Airsoft gun, be sure to declare it at the ticket counter inside the airport. In other words, you must verbally notify a Southwest^® Employee at the ticket counter that you are planning to check a paintball or Airsoft gun.
• Paintball and Airsoft guns over 100 pounds in weight and/or 115 inches in total dimensions cannot be checked as baggage.
• Standard checked bag fees and overweight bag fees apply to firearms.
• Oversize fees are waived.

Compressed gas cylinders are allowed in your checked or carryon bag only if the regulator valve is disconnected and the cylinder is unsealed and has an open end. TSA agents need to see that the cylinder is empty and there are no paintballs or other items inside.
