NEW: Portable charger/power bank requirements

• each Customer is limited to one power bank (effective April 20, 2026)
• must be carried in the cabin; must not be placed in checked luggage
• must not exceed 100 watt-hours
• must not be placed in the overhead bin (if traveling with a smart bag, you must remove the battery before stowing the bag in the overhead bin) and should be stored in a personal item under the seat in front of you
• may not be charged onboard using in-seat power
• when in use it must be visible (not stored in a bag)

Not allowed in checked luggage: Lithium batteries, portable chargers/power banks, e-cigarettes, and lighters. Do not pack recalled, damaged, or defective batteries, as they can pose a fire hazard.

Spare batteries (for cameras, drones, games, toys)

Spare batteries are defined as up to 2 removable batteries form-fitted to each personal electronic device (PED).

• You may carry up to 20 spare batteries
• Requirements:
  • Must be in your carryon or on your person
  • Terminals must be protected to prevent short circuits

Battery-powered electronic smoking devices

• Includes: electronic cigarettes, e-cigarettes, e-cigs, e-cigars, e-pipes, e-hookahs, personal vaporizers/vapes, electronic nicotine delivery systems, etc.
• Allowed in carryon only
• E-cigarette regulations vary by country. Check the official government website for each country you're traveling to or from to confirm current requirements
• Not allowed:
• Use or charging (device or batteries) onboard
• More than two devices per Passenger

Lighters & Matches

• Allowed in carryon or on your person only:
• One common lighter (e.g., BIC)
• One book of safety matches
• Battery-powered lighters (e.g., laser plasma lighters, tesla coil lighters, flux lighters, arc and double-arc lighters):
• Carryon only
• Limit: one per Passenger
• Must have a safety cap or battery removed to prevent accidental activation
• Charging of the device or batteries onboard is not allowed
• Prohibited items (from checked and carryon):
• Torch lighters using butane or propane (e.g., blue flame lighters or cigar lighters)
• Lighter fluid
• Strike-anywhere matches
• Fire starter (liquid, solid, or gel)
