What if my carryon needs to be checked at the gate?

BaggageCarryon baggageCarryon bags and personal items

All carryon items must be stowed properly for takeoff and landing—either in the overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of the Customer. Space onboard is limited, and sometimes items have to be gate checked. Gate-checked carryon bags can be picked up at baggage claim when you arrive at your final destination. Assistive devices and strollers can be claimed at the gate/jet bridge. If your bag needs to be checked, you must remove the following:

  • E-cigarettes
  • Power banks/portable chargers
  • Smart bag batteries
  • Spare batteries
  • Lighters and safety matches

We also recommend that you remove the following:

  • Medication
  • Assistive devices (e.g., canes)
  • Keys
