What actions can I complete at a self-service kiosk if I’m traveling with a Lap Child?

Flying with ChildrenLap child policy
  • Customer and Lap Child check-in
  • Add a Lap Child to a reservation 
  • Edit a Lap Child’s name, gender, or birthdate
  • Print a Boarding Verification Document (BVD). BVDs are also available after check-in online and via the mobile app.

Note: You can only add a Lap Child to a reservation using the self-service kiosk if you are flying domestically. You cannot use the self-service kiosk to add a Lap Child when flying internationally.

When traveling on a partner itinerary, a seat must be purchased for any children fourteen (14) days old and younger than two (2) years old.
