A Southwest® gift card can be purchased at Southwest.com® or at approved retail locations.
A Southwest gift card can be used toward airfare on Southwest Airlines®, excluding Getaways by Southwest™ vacation packages and Group travel. Southwest gift cards cannot be used to pay for any optional travel charges like a bag fee, seat upgrade, Pet Fare, or an Unaccompanied Minor fee.
If a Southwest gift card is redeemed for travel and you cancel the reservation at least 10 minutes prior to original scheduled departure, any remaining funds will be held under the confirmation number as a Transferable Flight Credit™. If a gift card was used to pay for a reservation with more than one Passenger, any funds remaining after cancellation will be held for each Passenger as a flight credit or Transferable Flight Credit. The type of credit each Passenger gets depends on whether the gift card was used for their ticket. If not, the credit depends on the type of fare purchased.
Flight credits and Transferable Flight Credits have a specified expiration date. All travel must be completed by the expiration date. For refundable fares purchased with a gift card and canceled, the Transferable Flight Credit will not expire.
Southwest gift cards do not expire and do not have dormancy fees/do not devalue over time.
A gift card can be mailed or emailed to you or directly to a recipient of your choice. However, we don’t ship gift cards internationally, to P.O. boxes, or to APO/FPO addresses.
While you can’t reload an existing gift card, additional gift cards may be purchased at any time.
You can view the Southwest gift card terms and conditions on Southwest.com.
