Name Change

Southwest will process a name change to an account or upcoming reservation based on legal documentation of a name change. Valid documents that will be accepted include: old and new driver licenses, old and new identification cards, old and new passports, marriage license, divorce decree, and legal name change documentation.

If you have an upcoming reservation(s) associated with your account, we can update your name on up to five reservations. Please note that reservations booked or changed on or after May 28, 2025—including changes to a Passenger’s name—may be subject to checked baggage fees and current fare rules.
