If you miss your flight, speak with a Southwest® Customer Service Agent at the airport for assistance.
If you do not plan to travel, please notify Southwest® at least 10 minutes before the flight’s original scheduled departure time. With the exception of reservations eligible for a refund as a result of a Southwest-initiated significant schedule change, significant flight delay, or cancellation, failing to cancel at least 10 minutes before departure results in the following:
Choice Extra or Choice Preferred fare
- Funds will be refunded as a Transferable Flight Credit™. Transferable Flight Credits™ have a specified expiration date. All travel must be completed on or before the expiration date.
Basic fare, Choice fare, and Getaways by Southwest™ vacation bookings
- The funds will be forfeited.
For reward travel reservations (booked with Rapid Rewards® points):
Choice Extra or Choice Preferred fare
- The points used for booking will be redeposited to the purchaser's Rapid Rewards account.
- Any taxes and fees will be converted into a Transferable Flight Credit, which has a set expiration date. Travel must be completed on or before the expiration date.
Basic or Choice fare
- The points used for booking, along with any taxes and fees associated with your reward travel reservation, will be forfeited.
Traveling on an itinerary involving a partner airline? Keep in mind that the partner airline may have different no-show guidelines.
