You can check your bags digitally (and pay standard bag fees as applicable) during or after online check-in, or check your bags at the airport using our self-tagging kiosks (where available). Follow the prompts to tag your own bags and complete payment using a credit card. If you need assistance, one of our friendly Southwest® Agents is always happy to help.
If you choose to check your bag at the airport, you must pay for any fees with a physical credit card.
If you check your bag online, the following forms of payment are accepted:
- Credit cards
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
Checked baggage will be accepted at the airport no earlier than four hours ahead of your flight’s scheduled departure time. Learn more.
