TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID is a TSA program that allows select Customers to move through the security screening process without pulling out their photo ID. Southwest® Customers enrolled in TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID can access a dedicated lane at participating security checkpoints. TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID will be available at additional airports in our network soon!
Who is eligible?
To participate TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID when traveling with Southwest Airlines®, you must:
- be a current TSA PreCheck traveler
- be at least 18 years old
- have valid passport information uploaded to your Southwest profile
- have opted in to the program and provided all relevant information in the Southwest app
- Note: Southwest Customers will also need to be a Rapid Rewards® Member so we can save this information to your profile
How do I participate?
Before travel
Using the Southwest app, log in to My Account and complete the following steps by selecting TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID in the quick links:
- scan a valid passport
- add your Known Traveler Number (KTN) to your account profile
- opt in for TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID
At the airport
The TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID indicator must appear on your mobile boarding pass to enter the dedicated TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID lane.
If I'm eligible for TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID, do I still need to bring my physical ID to the airport?
Yes. If a Passenger’s identity cannot be verified by the biometric technology at the security checkpoint, the Passenger must use an acceptable physical identity document for verification. Southwest Employees may also need this document to verify identity at the ticket counter, gates, baggage service office, etc.
TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID Bag Drop
TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID Bag Drop for Southwest Customers is currently available at Denver International Airport (DEN).
Southwest® Customers departing DEN who are enrolled in TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID and have the TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID indicator on their mobile boarding pass can drop their bags at the dedicated TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID Bag Drop area located on Level 6 of the Jeppesen Terminal near Doors 605 & 607.
